Bani is a coastal municipality on Pangasinan’s western shoreline, bordering Bolinao to the north along the South China Sea. Known for its beaches, sea caves, waterfalls, and sweet watermelon harvests, it earned the nickname “Golden West” decades ago. havenph currently lists a beachfront lot near the Bolinao boundary.

Neighborhoods

The listed beachfront lot lies along Bani’s northern coastline, in the stretch that runs toward the Bolinao boundary near Patar White Beach — one of several coastal barangays that give Bani its long South China Sea shoreline.

Poblacion, the town proper, holds the municipal hall, public market, and church, with barangays like Centro Toma and San Miguel close by.

Inland and southern barangays such as San Jose, San Simon, San Vicente, and Ballag are more agricultural — Bani is known across the province for its watermelon farms, which earned the town the nickname “Golden West.”

In total Bani has 27 barangays, spanning coastline, town center, and farmland across the municipality.

Transport

Bani is about 262 km from Manila. The most common route is by bus (Victory Liner or similar lines) from Manila’s Cubao, Pasay, or Caloocan terminals via NLEX and SCTEX to Alaminos City, roughly 5–6 hours, then a short tricycle, jeepney, or van ride (about 13 km) into Bani proper. Bani borders Bolinao directly, so trips combining both towns’ beaches are common. Tricycles and habal-habal are the main way to get around locally once in town.

Schools and Hospitals

The Bani Schools District Office oversees more than 30 public elementary schools and 10 public high schools across the municipality’s barangays, including Bani National High School and Bani West Central School, plus several private schools. For health care, Bani’s own Rural Health Units (RHU I and RHU II) handle local primary care, while the nearest hospital is Western Pangasinan District Hospital in Alaminos City, about 13 km away.

Landmarks and Lifestyle

Bani’s coastline is dotted with beaches like Surip, Olanen, and Tobong, popular for diving and snorkeling, plus the 1,000-step Via Crucis stairway leading up to a hilltop Redeemer’s Cross overlooking the South China Sea. Nalsoc Cave, with its underground river and natural stone archway, and Baliwangga Falls draw visitors inland, while the Bangrin Mangroves are a spot for birdwatching. The town is also known province-wide for its sweet watermelon harvests.
