Parañaque City is a coastal city in the southern part of Metro Manila, bordered by Pasay, Taguig, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, and Manila Bay, with a population of over 700,000. Founded in 1580 and made a highly urbanized city in 1998, it is home to NAIA Terminal 1, the Entertainment City gaming and resort strip, and the historic Baclaran Church. See what havenph currently lists in Parañaque, plus a rundown of neighborhoods, transport, schools, and landmarks.
Neighborhoods
Parañaque is made up of 16 barangays across two districts. The 1st District — Baclaran, Tambo, Don Galo, Santo Niño, La Huerta, San Dionisio, San Isidro, and Vitalez — covers the older, coastal part of the city around Baclaran Church and Roxas Boulevard. The 2nd District — BF Homes, San Antonio, Marcelo Green, Sun Valley, Don Bosco, Moonwalk, Merville, and San Martin de Porres — is the more residential, subdivision-heavy half further inland; Don Bosco is where Levitown Village, home to havenph’s current Parañaque listing, is located.
Transport
Parañaque is well-served by both rail and road: LRT-1 runs through the city with five stations including its newer South Extension, and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) serves as a major provincial bus and jeepney hub. Major roads include the Skyway, South Luzon Expressway, CAVITEX, the NAIA Expressway, and Roxas Boulevard, and NAIA Terminal 1 sits within the city itself. Within neighborhoods like Don Bosco, tricycles and jeepneys handle the shorter trips to the nearest main roads.
Schools and Hospitals
Parañaque is home to established schools including St. Andrew’s School (founded 1917, one of the city’s oldest private schools), St. Paul College of Parañaque, Parañaque Science High School, PATTS College of Aeronautics, and Olivarez College. For healthcare, the city has several private hospitals, including Parañaque Doctors Hospital and Olivarez General Hospital, both offering general and emergency care.
Landmarks and Lifestyle
Parañaque’s best-known landmark is the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, better known as Baclaran Church, alongside the historic Parañaque Cathedral. Along the bay, Entertainment City brings together Solaire Resort & Casino, City of Dreams Manila, and Okada Manila, with Ayala Malls Manila Bay and SM malls in Sucat, Bicutan, and BF Parañaque covering everyday shopping. Baclaran Market and the DAMPA seafood market in La Huerta round out the city’s retail and food scene, all a short distance from NAIA Terminal 1.
